The head of the International Air Transport Association says the airline industry needs help from government to bring down the cost of biofuels, which could help in reducing pollution. Tony Tyler, chief executive of the IATA says that airlines have flown 1,500 commercial flights powered by plant-derived fuel, but at great cost and with limited supply.

Only Three Aircraft Remain After Two More Were Sold

New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez has cut the state's fleet of airplanes from eight to three, with two of the aircraft being sold recently. Martinez (R) made the planes part of her 2010 election campaign. She had promised to sell what she called a "luxury jet" purchased by Governor Bill Richardson (D) during his administration.
