Boeing celebrated today its first new airplane delivery to Air Lease Corporation (ALC) from their order placed during the 2010 Farnborough Air Show. The Los Angeles-based leasing company took delivery of a Next-Generation 737-800, which will be leased from ALC and operated by Korean Air.

The Marine Corps has recently used the unmanned aerial vehicle as a cargo transportation platform in Helmand Province. A new step forward was taken when landing support specialists with Combat Logistics Battalion 5, 1st Marine Logistics Group (Forward) conducted the first series of hot hook-ups with the UAV at Camp Dwyer Afghanistan, May 23-25.

American Pacific Corporation has reached agreement to divest its Aerospace Equipment segment, also known as its In-Space Propulsion business, to Moog Inc. The purchase price announced Monday is approximately $46 million in cash. The In-Space Propulsion business, with locations in New York, California, Ireland and the United Kingdom, is a developer and manufacturer of liquid propulsion systems and components for satellites and missile defense systems.

The Solar Impulse aircraft designed by Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg has completed its flight to Morocco. The prototype landed successfully in Rabat-Salé airport at 2330 local time Tuesday evening. AD Affects Great Lakes Aircraft Produced During The 1970’s And 80’s

The FAA has issued an Airworthiness Directive (AD) that addresses a safety problem with Great Lakes aircraft produced in the 1970’s and 1980’s. The affected aircraft were not produced by WACO Classic Aircraft. However, as the new Type Certificate Holder, the company said in a news release that they take seriously the issue of continued airworthiness of the Great Lakes fleet of aircraft serial numbers 501 through 1012.
