Company Says Aircraft Surpassing All Performance Expectations

Gulfstream’s G280 aircraft is steadily moving toward entry-into-service, having completed several flight-test milestones en route to type certification later this year from the FAA. The aircraft received a provisional type certificate (PTC) from the Civil Aviation Authority of Israel on December 29, 2011. A PTC from the FAA will follow. The aircraft is slated to enter service mid-year.

Metro Aviation Orders Five EC145s

Joins Louisiana Fleet Of 17 Used In EMS Work

American Eurocopter reports that Metro Aviation has signed for five more EC145 helicopters. The agreement is for three firm orders with an additional two options. The first aircraft is expected to be delivered in March and it will be joining a fleet that currently includes 17 EC145s.

Following Wednesdays decision by the FCC to not allow LightSquared to proceed to develop its 4G broadband data network on frequencies adjacent to those used by GPS receivers, LightSquared issued a statement blasting the agency, saying it had caved in to special interests by protecting GPS.
