NTSB Issues Recommendations On Medical Helicopter Operations

In a letter to the Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Selibus, NTSB Chair Debora Hersman has offered four recommendations for the providers of medical helicopter services.  The recommendations follow the investigations of recent accidents, which reached record numbers in 2008.

BTS Releases July Passenger Airline Employment Data

July 2009 Employment Down 5.9 Percent from July 2008

U.S. scheduled passenger airlines employed 5.9 percent fewer workers in July 2009 than in July 2008, the 13th consecutive decrease in FTE levels for the scheduled passenger carriers from the same month of the previous year, the U.S. DOT's Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported Tuesday.

37-year-old Sean Wagner has been cited for violating local codes for landing a helicopter in his back yard in Davie, Florida.
