ANN is not sure that we see the rationale in this, but lawyers for the family of a skydiver killed in a tragic October Caravan crash have filed suit against the aircraft's manufacturer despite the fact that the aircraft reportedly encountered airframe icing in IMC... without being flown on an IFR flight plan. The lawsuit filed by the parents of skydiver Bryan Jones claim the plane was defective and shouldn't have been flying in icy weather, according to reports filed with Seattle's KOMO TV.

Portuguese Company Develops Vegetable Oil Refining Process

Former Northwest Execs 'In' At Delta

Gorman In, Koshak Out

A shake-up at Delta Air Lines of its operations executives has a former Northwest Airline executive Stephen Gorman replacing Joe Kolshak. Gorman who was once in charge of operation and maintenance at Northwest Airlines comes to Delta from Greyhound Lines. Kolshak, 50, is retiring after 20 years at Delta, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

A multibillion-dollar program is being explored by the U.S. to develop the next generation of spy satellites since the Future Imagery Architecture system was cancelled two years ago, according to the Associated Press. The next system, called BASIC, is planned to be launched by 2011 and initial costs are estimated to start at $2 billion to $4 billion, according to U.S. officials.
