Airborne-Flight Training 04.21.22: MedXPress Upgrades, Elixir A/C, Indian MAX

Also: Piper SnF Seminole Sale, USAF CAP, Confederation College, Pilot Proficiency Network

The FAA has added a new feature to MedXPress that allows pilots to track the status of their medical certificates online throughout the application and review process.

Prior to adding this new feature, pilots had to call the Office of Aerospace Medicine to check their application status. Elixir Aircraft has slowly been making its way into the European GA market, sealing deals here and there as they increase production and build up the brand. Their recent deals included a sale of 2 brand new CS-23 Elixirs to Aero-Club Brocard, a volunteer organization that found the plane the perfect addition to their fleet. The Elixir represents a rare deal for the Parisian club, being a domestic aircraft made in France, not too far away from their home base in La Rochelle. Indian regulators had bad news for a crop of recently trained 737 Max pilots, telling budget carrier SpiceJet that 90 of its airmen cannot fly the aircraft until they complete a retraining regimen. The issue lies with the simulator used to complete their prior training on the Max and a fault that rendered the stick shaker non-functional. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has ordered that those who missed out on the full experience of the max must retrain to ensure consistency and correct response in the event of a stall. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
