ACI-NA Adds Chris Bidwell And Chris Oswald To Staff

Both Will Assume New Roles In October

Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA) announced this week the addition of two new staff members.

Christopher R. Bidwell -- currently Managing Director, Security, at the Air Transport Association (ATA) -- will join ACI-NA as Vice President of Security and Facilitation on October 13. Christopher J. Oswald, currently a Director at Jacobs Consultancy, will join the ACI-NA staff as Vice President of Safety and Technical Operations on October 20.

"We are excited to welcome both Chris Bidwell and Chris Oswald to the ACI-NA team," said Greg Principato, ACI-NA President. "They are recognized experts in their field, with extensive experience that will greatly benefit airports and enhance our organization."

Bidwell comes to ACI-NA from the Air Transport Association (ATA) where he served as Managing Director, Security. In that position, Bidwell works closely with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Congress.

Prior to joining ATA in 2002, Bidwell served as Manager, Corporate Security, for American Airlines, and prior to that was Director of Safety and Security at Reno Air. He also worked with United Airlines as Senior Staff Investigator of Inflight Safety and Staff Engineer, Occupational and Environmental Safety.

Bidwell holds a master's degree in Aviation Safety from Central Missouri State University and a bachelor's degree in Psychology from University of Missouri-St. Louis. He also serves as chairman of the DHS Aviation Sector Coordinating Council.

Oswald currently serves as a Director for Jacobs Consultancy in Washington, DC, where he specializes in the evaluation of airfield and airspace capacity, airfield simulation, airport planning, and airspace obstruction analyses. He has worked with many North American airports, including Boston-Logan, Chicago-O'Hare, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood, John F. Kennedy, LaGuardia, Memphis, Norfolk, Portland, San Francisco, and Seattle-Tacoma international airports. While Oswald has spent much of his professional career with Leigh Fisher Associates and Jacobs Consultancy, he also worked with Aviation and Airport Professionals and P & D Aviation on a number of airport planning and design projects.

Oswald holds a master's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor's degree in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, CA.
