Whew... one of these weeks, we might have a lighter news week and a chance to catch our breath... but THIS was NOT that week.
Piper aircraft is continuing with a strong trend in GA aircraft sales and deliveries for the first quarter of 2012, a pattern it had established over the first quarters of the previous two years. The U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, announced the commanding officer for the 2013-14 seasons during a press conference. The NTSB this week released accident statistics for 2011, and while the news was good for airlines, with no fatal accidents last year, the news was not so good for GA, which saw an increase in both accidents, as did Part 135 operators. Hawker Beechcraft has filed paperwork with the SEC that will allow it to keep its financial information private. And, a congressional battle is shaping up over aviation fuel taxes that are being diverted to non-aviation uses. We have ALL this and SO MUCH MORE in this week's edition of AIRBORNE!
As always, PLEASE keep sending us your feedback and ideas... you have no idea how important that is to us as we evolve the Airborne mission. As we listen to your critiques, we're getting a far better idea as to how to tweak and fine-tune future Airborne programming to fit your needs. We think you're going to like what we have in mind for the future.
