Month-long Trip Results In 40 Flight Demonstrations In Three
Countries
Hawker Beechcraft
Corporation’s Government Business team recently completed a
month-long tour of Europe and Africa with the Beechcraft T-6C
military trainer, which has already netted a contract from the
Royal Moroccan Air Force for 24 of the latest version of the
versatile turboprop aircraft. The T-6C is an advanced version of
the T-6A Texan II, which incorporates an integrated glass cockpit
and an avionics suite that greatly expands its training
capabilities. It is distinguished from the T-6B by the addition of
a hard point wing that allows it to carry external fuel tanks.
“The T-6C is an exceptional airplane for the primary
training mission because of its multi-functional display avionics
suite and structural integrity,” said Jim Maslowski,
president, U.S. and International Government Business for HBC.
“It also demonstrated its reliability on this tour. The only
service it required throughout the month-long international journey
was the replacement of one wingtip light bulb and the addition of a
half quart of oil.”
During the tour, the aircraft made stops in Morocco, Spain and
the United Kingdom and flew 40 demonstration flights. It completed
two trans-Atlantic crossings, logged 97.9 hours of flight, flew 62
sorties and made 170 landings.
The T-6 offers military organizations worldwide the most proven
and most cost-effective training system available today. It is
versatile and capable enough to accommodate instruction in
elementary flight training and instrument flight procedures all the
way through basic and advanced aerobatic maneuvers. To date, it has
been used to train pilots from approximately 20 different
countries. More than 550 T-6 trainer aircraft have been delivered
to air forces worldwide. The international T-6 fleet has
accumulated more than one million flight hours since first entering
service in 2000.
