Fully Integrated Flight Management System Available As An
Option For All Eclipse Jets
The FAA has issued an STC to Eclipse Aerospace for an Integrated
Flight Management System (IFMS) for the Eclipse Twin-Engine Jet.
The IFMS system was developed by Innovative Solutions &
Support, Inc. specifically for integration in the advanced cockpit
of the Eclipse Twin-Engine Jet. Eclipse Aerospace, located in
Albuquerque, New Mexico, provides engineering, service, and support
for the fleet of 260 Eclipse twin-engine jets.
The Avio IFMS provides dynamically calculated top of decent
guidance, coupled LPV approach, Airway / Victor route navigation,
RNP (Auto/Manual), holding patterns and procedure turns, parallel
offsets, storage for ninety-nine flight plans, user defined
waypoints, nearest airports and navigation aids, and on-route
information. The system includes enhanced graphics such as
integrated on-route e-charts, e-charts overlaid on the moving map,
freezing levels, winds aloft, stormscope display, progressive
zooming, and Canadian NexRad/Metars and TAFs.
Unlike non-integrated cockpits, the Eclipse Jet takes full
advantage of EFIS and FMS avionics functions by tightly integrating
data provided from these systems with data provided by the Eclipse
on board data computer systems. It is with this integration that
the Eclipse Jet provides pilots with instant data and feedback on
all operations of the aircraft in one location.
"We at Eclipse Aerospace are very proud to be able to ... offer
a fully integrated FMS system not only for our factory sold Total
Eclipse aircraft but also as additional functionality for our
existing fleet," states Mason Holland CEO of Eclipse Aerospace.
"Orders for Total Eclipse Jets complete with the new Avio IFMS are
now being taken with delivery time averaging 60 days."
