Daniel Webster College tells ANN
that it "has chosen to underscore its commitment to training
students at the highest possible level through the recent purchase
of three Piper Arrows and three Piper Seminoles." The purchase was
made through Columbia Aircraft Sales in Connecticut.
"Daniel Webster College reviewed its fleet last year and was
looking at options for replacement in the next couple of years,"
says Gary Saunders, Manager of New Piper Sales Columbia Aircraft
Sales. "We were in a position to offer the College one of the most
attractive packages focusing on the strength of the New Piper
fleet."
"There are key
initiatives for flight training operations," says Doug Joyce,
Director of Flight Operations for Daniel Webster College,
"enlisting students, maintaining enrollment, and promotion of
flight education after graduation and beyond. The Arrow and
Seminole are the only current U.S.-manufactured complex production
aircraft that combine affordability with modern avionics and good
dispatch reliability - characteristics that are paramount to our
flight curriculum."
Like any other training business, a great deal of time and money
is applied to recruiting students. Students are looking for
newer aircraft with varying capabilities. They want the
latest in technology but they also want an aircraft that does the
specific job required.
"The Piper Arrow and the Piper Seminole fit that bill," says New
Piper President and CEO Chuck Suma. "Daniel Webster's new Arrows
and Seminoles offer complex training capabilities that include
state-of-the-art technology, such as Garmin avionics and
autopilot. These aircraft also offer the new look and feel
that are crucial in the development and training of student
pilots. Moreover, the full-line Piper fleet provides students
the opportunity to progress through advanced single and
multi-engine training while keeping them interested in
learning."
