Omniflight Helicopters, Inc. Donates Nearly $15K To Cancer Fund

Donation Goes To Susan G. Komen for the Cure

We love stories where aviation business looks like the good neighbor it is... and this is one of them. Omniflight Helicopters is donating nearly $15,000 to the Phoenix Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, raised from its Flight for the Cure program.

In December 2008, Omniflight announced the launch of its Flight for the Cure fundraising program to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Under the program, Omniflight and its Mesa, Ariz.-based Native Air division, stated it would donate $10 for each air medical transport completed throughout Arizona during the months of December 2008, January 2009 and February 2009 to the Phoenix Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

The check presentation will take place on Friday, May 8, 2009 at Native Air’s Maintenance Facility at the Williams Gateway Airport in Mesa, Ariz. Omniflight management will present the check to Susan G. Komen for the Cure representatives from the Phoenix affiliate. During the three-month program, all Native Air aircraft representing its 13 bases, donned pink breast cancer decals. Several of these aircraft with the decals will be at the check presentation event, some of which will perform fly-overs. In addition, a local pink ground ambulance will be on hand to show support for this important cause.

“Our new partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure is an important one for Omniflight and its employees. Almost everyone in this country – and in our company -- has been affected in some way by breast cancer. This program allows our organization to recognize the importance of finding a cure as we show support for the unrelenting efforts put forth by Susan G. Komen for the Cure. We are pleased to align with them and look forward to continuing to help make a difference for this important cause,” explained Robert A. Peiser, chairman and chief executive officer at Omniflight.

Addison, Texas-based Omniflight Helicopters, Inc. is a leading provider of air medical services throughout the U.S.
