Upgraded: John Ballantyne

Carol Dodds, General Manager, and the Board of Directors of e-publishing group announced Monday that John Ballantyne has been named as Director of Product Development for the multimedia software innovators of the popular Comm1 Radio Simulator TM series.

Ballantyne will lead development efforts on a variety of new audio-interactive aviation communication simulation and training products that will be released over the coming months. An accomplished pilot, certified flight instructor, examiner, and FAA Aviation Safety Counselor, Ballantyne will provide critical technical and content expertise and serve as industry and government liaison for e-publishing group’s aviation product endeavors.

"Comm1 has become known as some of the best training material available in our industry, and we are delighted that John has joined us to help bring new and unique products to fruition. As an instructor and experienced pilot, his input will be invaluable," said Mike James, e-publishing group owner and creator of Comm1. Ballantyne’s new position follows 25+ years as a veteran in the sport and recreational aviation industry where he was the founder and past president of the US Ultralight Association and writer for a variety of aviation publications, to name just a few of the important positions he has held.

The Comm1 audio-interactive pilot communications training series was designed to help pilots overcome "mic fright" and as a refresher tool for maintaining radio proficiency (VFR, IFR and Clearances on Request).  Comm1 is considered "an integral part of any quality flight training syllabus" by ground and flight instructors at the most prestigious aviation universities, the US Navy and US Air Force, and ab initio flight training facilities in throughout the US and abroad.
