Jabiru USA Expands Facilities

More Room For More Planes

A larger facility, to help grab a bigger piece of the American market. Representatives with Jabiru USA tell ANN the company has completed expansion of its manufacturing facilities in Shelbyville, TN just in time for the new year.

"We have been able to produce and deliver just one or two airplanes a month, until now," said Peter Krotje, President of Jabiru USA. "Now, we are already making one a week, and by the middle of 2007, we should be delivering six each month. That number should increase to 10 per month in 2008."

Krotje adds the expansion has eliminated "a huge bottleneck" in production, which means customers won't have to wait as long for their aircraft... a big concern, as Jabiru gears up to put more aircraft, and aircraft engines in customers' hands.

"2007 is shaping up to be a great year for Jabiru sales, and this new addition/building will make all our promises easier to keep," Krotje said. "Increased production will allow us to add some additional regional dealers this year. We’re thrilled to have been able to bring the new space on line, on time."

Jabiru USA is the outlet for the Jabiru line of aircraft engines, as well as the factory-built Jabiru Calypso-SP light sport aircraft, and the larger Jabiru 170-SP and Jabiru 250-SP. Jabiru USA also provides customer parts and service support, along with kits for the Jabiru aircraft, for those who wish to build their own.
