Cessna Names New Director Of Communications

Doug Oliver Comes From Embraer

Cessna Aircraft Company announced earlier this week it has named Doug Oliver director of communications, effective February 6. In this role, Oliver will have day-to-day responsibility for internal communications and media relations for the company.

Oliver will be based at Cessna's headquarters in Wichita, KS and he'll report to Cessna Vice President of Communications Robert Stangarone.

Cessna representatives tell Aero-News Oliver brings more than 16 years experience in aerospace communications to the company. Most recently, Oliver served as North American communications director for Embraer.

Prior to that, he was media relations director and customer relations director at Fairchild Dornier in the United States and Germany, and served in several global media relations posts at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co.

Oliver comes to Cessna as the company enjoys a banner year in 2005, which saw over 1,100 aircraft deliveries, an order book approaching 2,000 and certification of the CJ1+ and CJ2+ biz jets.

A native of Charleston, SC, Oliver holds a bachelor's in journalism from Georgia State University, and worked for a number of daily and weekly newspapers in Atlanta, GA.
