This Year’s Conference Scheduled For February 24-27, 2022

Founded in 1993, the annual National Warbird Operators Conference (NWOC) event brings together warbird owners, operators, and museum directors to address events facing warbird owners and to discuss common goals related to the ever-changing economics, operations and regulations pertaining to flying ex-military aircraft. NWOC focuses on the exchange of ideas and information concerning the safe operation and restoration of warbird aircraft.

NTSB Identified 31 Accidents Between 1982 And 2020 Attributed To Carbon Monoxide

The NTSB has called on the FAA, (for the second time, no less) to require carbon monoxide detectors in general aviation aircraft, the agency said in a safety recommendation report released this week. The NTSB identified 31 accidents between 1982 and 2020 attributed to carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning. Twenty-three of those accidents were fatal, killing 42 people and seriously injuring four more. A CO detector was found in only one of the airplanes and it was not designed to provide an active audible or visual alert to the pilot, features the NTSB also recommended.

The new Zuri in the works is currently designated within the company as ZURI 2.0, with a dedicated freight version, the Zuri 2.0 CARGO. Unable To Make The Runway He Performed A Forced Landing In A Field

On January 1, 2022, about 1211 eastern daylight time, a Mooney M20C, N79396, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Arcadia, Florida. The private pilot and passenger were not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. According to the pilot, he performed a preflight and verified he had sufficient fuel onboard for his flight. After an uneventful flight he entered the traffic pattern for runway 24. While on final approach about 300 to 400 ft, he reported the airplane “experienced some sink.”

AD 2021-26-21 Describes The Unsafe Condition As Insufficient Performance Of The Fuel Drain System

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. (Pilatus) Model PC-24 airplanes. This AD was prompted by mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) originated by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product. The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as insufficient performance of the fuel drain system that could lead to fire and damage of the airplane. This AD requires modifying the fuel drain pipe routing and installing a drain mast. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products. This AD is effective February

AD 2021-26-16 Prompted By Multiple Reports Of Failure Of The Main Driveshaft

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain type certificated Model UH-1H restricted category helicopters. This AD was prompted by multiple reports of failure of the main driveshaft. This AD requires establishing a limit to replace certain main driveshafts, and a one-time and repetitive inspections of the main driveshafts. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products. This AD is effective February 25, 2022.
