Skyborne Aviation To Acquire US-Based Flt Academy

Will Be Based In Vero Beach, Florida

Skyborne Aviation Group has confirmed the proposed acquisition of its first pilot training base in the United States in Vero Beach, Florida. “Skyborne Airline Academy Vero Beach” will offer prospective pilots US FAA Part 141 approved training on a 13-month residential programme, as well as individual, part-time modules. It will also serve as a fair-weather base for Skyborne’s UK CAA Integrated ATPL programme, and welcome trainees from the Academy’s IndiGo Cadet Pilot Programme as they complete their US FAA 141 CPL SEIR plus ME flying.

Van’s Aircraft Reviewing Their Quick Build Kits For Surface Corrosion

Appears To Be Caused By Improper Procedures At Contractor Facility

Van’s Aircraft reports that it is investigating a few reports of potential surface corrosion appearing on the interior aluminum surfaces of specific Quick Build wing and fuselage kits. Kits that are in-scope for this review are those that were assembled by a contract company and delivered to Van’s Aircraft between June 2020 and January 2021. They note that not all kits from this time period are necessarily affected, and the scope of their investigation is intentionally broad at to help ensure sufficient and complete information collection.

The future of the artifacts, research library, and aircraft, which belong to the Marine Corps, is unknown. We have been told that the closure is for financial reasons, even though the Flying Leatherneck Historical Foundation has offered to assume full financial responsibility for the operation

The inaugural Southern California Drone Film Festival is set for March 6, 2021 and marks the only event of its kind in California. FAA Proposes $27,500 Civil Penalty Against Airline Passenger

Allegedly Interfered With, and Assaulted, Flight Attendant

The FAA has proposed a $27,500 civil penalty against an airline passenger for allegedly interfering with and assaulting a flight attendant. The FAA alleges that on an Oct. 19, 2020, Delta Air Lines flight from Miami, Fla., to Atlanta, Ga., the passenger was traveling with and sitting next to another passenger who refused to wear his mask, secure his seat tray table, and fasten his seatbelt. The flight returned to the gate as a result of the passenger’s refusal to follow the flight attendant’s instructions.

On February 8, 2021, about 1442 central standard time, a Cessna 177RG airplane, N8080G, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Galt, Missouri. The pilot and passenger were fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 91 personal flight. Based on preliminary radar information, the flight departed Saint Louis Downtown Airport (CPS), Saint Louis, Missouri, at 1051 and arrived at Omar N. Bradley Airport (MBY), Moberly, Missouri, at 1157. The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. (Pilatus) Model PC-24 airplanes. This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) originated by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product.
