The 1,000th TBM has rolled out from Daher’s Tarbes, France final assembly line, in this case a TBM 940 version, destined for an owner/operator in the United States. “The Daher group and its employees take particular pride in reaching the TBM’s 1,000 mark,” stated Didier Kayat, the CEO of Daher. “We have made significant investment since integrating the TBM into Daher’s business portfolio, and now it is a major asset for our overall industrial activity.”

The Aerial Tribute Will Include Over 65 WWII Era Airplanes Flying In Historical Sequence

On Friday, September 25, an aerial tribute commemorating the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II will take place over the National Mall and Potomac River. Organized by the Arsenal of Democracy Flyover, the aerial tribute will include over 65 WWII era airplanes flying in historical sequence formations representing the significant battles of WWII and ending with the missing man formation.

Launches New Freighter Conversion Lines to Meet Strong Demand

Achieved With More Than 260 Aircraft Operating Globally

Bell Textron's Bell 505 Jet Ranger X program has accumulated more than 50,000 flight hours. More than 260 Bell 505s are operating a variety of missions across six continents and 55 countries. Notable deliveries this year have included, Southern Utah University, Centaurium and public safety configured Bell 505s to Leon County and Alameda County. "Operators around the world continue to compliment the aircraft performance and value in adding a Bell 505 to their daily operations," said Eric Sinusas, program director, Light Aircraft, Bell. Selected RCAF Pilots And Engineers Will Undergo Periodic Training At ITPS

The International Test Pilots School (ITPS) has announced it has been awarded a contract to train Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) test pilots and flight test engineers. Following an international competition, ITPS was ranked first in a bid for a Standing Offer to train personnel from the Aerospace Engineering Test Establishment (AETE). Currently based at 4 Wing Cold Lake, Alta., AETE is the developmental and engineering testing arm and flight test provider for the Canadian Armed Forces. The organization is responsible for evaluating new systems slated for installation on all Canadian military aircraft.

Pilot Applied Full Power To Go-Around, But The Engine Did Not Respond

On September 5, 2020, about 1850 eastern daylight time, an American Aviation AA1, N6107L, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident at the Newnan Coweta County Airport (CCO), Newnan , Georgia. The flight instructor and pilot receiving instruction were not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 instructional flight. According to the flight instructor, they were practicing a simulated engine failure in the airport traffic pattern, when the airplane was about 300 ft above ground level, the pilot applied full power to go-around, but the engine did not respond and remained at a low power setting.

Five Year Fixed Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity Contract

In an effort to field MQ-9 Reapers faster and meet an increasing operational demand for the aircraft, the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s MQ-9 Program Office awarded a $7.4 billion ceiling Agile Reaper Enterprise Solution (ARES) contract to General Atomics Sept. 17. The MQ-9 is an unmanned aircraft with intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and strike capabilities. Aero Linx: The California Agricultural Aircraft Association CAAA was born like many other associations to establish strength and utility to protect and develop the professionalism of an industry. Efforts were made to ensure that the Board representation was diverse, including all regions the state, fixed wing and helicopter, pilots and operators. Computer Navigation Fix (CNF) A Computer Navigation Fix is a point defined by a latitude/longitude coordinate and is required to support Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) operations. A five-letter identifier denoting a CNF can be found next to an “x” on en route charts and on some approach charts. Eventually, all CNFs will be labeled and begin with the letters “CF” followed by three consonants (e.g., ‘CFWBG’). CNFs are not recognized by ATC, are not contained in ATC fix or automation databases, and are not used for ATC purposes. Pilots should not use CNFs for point-to-point navigation (e.g., proceed direct), filing a flight plan, or in aircraft/ATC communications.
