The latest rendition of the Annual Sun ‘n Fun Fly-In appears to have closed on a high note... with SnF officials reporting record numbers starting with opening day. Highlights of the event, which was a little short on news and even shorter on decent communication from the vendors attending, started with an amazing non-stop flight by the first US-registered Sling TSi... all the way from Torrance to Florida... some 1900 nautical miles, and a lot of low-altitude flying over the Gulf to avoid serious weather --

The NTSB has released its preliminary report from an accident which occurred March 12 in Madeira, OH. The commercial-rated pilot of the Piper Navajo was fatally injured when the airplane impacted terrain while attempting to return to Cincinnati Municipal Airport-Lunken Field (KLUK), Cincinnati, Ohio after declaring a fuel emergency.

Air Peace Selects The E195-E2

Becomes The First E2 Operator In África

Embraer has signed a firm order for 10 E195-E2 jets with Air Peace, Nigeria's largest airline. The order was announced during Embraer's Africa Airline Business Seminar in Mauritius. With this order, Air Peace will become the first E-Jets E2 operator in Africa. The contract includes purchase rights for a further 20 E195-E2. With all purchase rights being exercised, the contract has a value of $2.12 billion, based on current list prices. The order will be included in Embraer's 2019 second-quarter backlog.

Aero Linx: The Swift Museum Foundation The Swift Museum is located at the McMinn County airport (KMMI) in Athens, Tennessee approximately 60 miles southwest of Knoxville, 60 miles northeast of Chattanooga and 200 miles southeast of Nashville. We have multiple Swift aircraft on display, including the first proto type #1, stock production and modified Swifts from 1946 to 1951, as well as two T-35 Buckaroo USAF trainers. These military versions of the Swift were tested by the USAF in the early 1950’s. One of the T-35’s is an armed version used by and donated to the Museum from the Saudi Arabian Air Force.
