Acting FAA Administrator Michael Huerta made his first official appearance in the top job on Thursday, making a speech at Forum Pavillion 7 and answering questions from the audience. While the administrator was well received, the forum was not particularly well attended, with only about a third of the seats in the pavillion filled. Huerta’s speech sounded familiar themes of safety and the promise of NextGen and ADS-B. Many of his answers to questions were short on specifics, though questions that were deferred to staffers who had traveled with Huerta to Wisconsin concerning Blue Ash Airport in Cincinnati and one about FAA written exams got more concrete responses.
