General Norton A. Schwartz Due To Retire In October Of This Year

The Air Force Association has booked General Norton A. Schwartz, the 19th Chief of Staff of the Air Force, as the guest speaker for the June session of AFA's 2012 Air Force Breakfast Program. As Chief, he serves as the senior uniformed Air Force officer responsible for the organization, training and equipping of 680,000 active-duty, Guard, Reserve and civilian forces serving in the United States and overseas.

Will Provide Airline With A320, B777-300ER FFS

Thales UK has been selected by EVA Airways to provide the airline with Airbus A320 and Boeing B777-300ER Level D Full Flight Simulators. The contract is part of EVA Airways’ expansion plan to its state of the art Flight Training Academy located at Taoyuan near Taoyuan International Airport in Taiwan. The facility currently operates A330, B747-400, B777-300ER and MD-11 Level D Full Flight Simulators.

Level D Flight Model Includes Weapons Systems Trainer

A new Sikorsky HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter simulator has entered service at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico as part of the U.S. Air Force’s Aircrew Training and Rehearsal Support (ATARS) program. ATARS prime contractor Lockheed Martin and FlightSafety designed the weapons systems trainer to prepare HH-60G aircrews for combat search and rescue missions.

Driving into Wittman Regional Airport at Oshkosh this summer, you couldn't help but notice the Farmer's Airship, which the company says is the largest in the world. The airship was available for tours on the grounds near the EAA museum during AirVenture 2011. David Finney, a flight operations specialist for Farmer's Insurance, told ANN that the aircraft was on a nationwide tour with stops at communities all across the United States.
