The Dawn spacecraft has completed a graceful spiral into the
first of four planned science orbits during the spacecraft's
yearlong visit to Vesta. The spacecraft started taking detailed
observations on Aug. 11 at 0013 EDT, which marks the official start
of the first science-collecting orbit phase at Vesta, also known as
the survey orbit.
NASA's twin lunar probes – GRAIL-A and GRAIL-B - completed
their final inspections and were weighed one final time at the
Astrotech Space Operations facility in Titusville, FL, on Tuesday.
The two Gravity Recovery and Interior Laboratory (GRAIL) spacecraft
will orbit the moon in formation to determine the structure of the
lunar interior from crust to core and to advance understanding of
the thermal evolution of the moon.
Aircraft To Bring New Levels Of Comfort And Eco-Efficiency
Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) has
signed a contract with Airbus covering the firm order of four
A350-900s and five A320 aircraft, becoming a new customer for both
aircraft types. The aircraft have been selected by the airline
under its fleet modernisation programme, with the A350 XWB set to
operate on long haul services to Europe and the A320s on domestic
and regional routes.
NASA has awarded grants to four universities and their partner
institutions that serve large numbers of minority and
underrepresented students to strengthen programs in science,
technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The grants total
approximately $600,000 and are provided through NASA's Curriculum
Improvement Partnership Award for the Integration of Research

A decorated veteran and his girlfriend were fatally injured last
Sunday when the plane they were in went down at the Warrenton Air
Park in Fauquier County, VA. Shannon Beebe was flying with

With China Southern Airlines To Operate The Jet, Embraer
Expands Its E-Jets Operators' Base In China
Embraer delivered the first EMBRAER 190 jet to China's CDB
Leasing Co., Ltd. (CLC), Thursday, at the Company's headquarters in
Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil. The aircraft will be operated by China
Southern Air Holding Xinjiang Company, a branch of China Southern
Airlines, which is the largest airline in China and the third in
the world, in terms of traffic volume.
Gulfstream Says The Aircraft Is On Track For Certification In

Gulfstream’s G650 recently completed several
flight-testing milestones en route to its anticipated type
certification later this year by the FAA and EASA. As of July 16,

Charted Visual Flight Procedure
An approach conducted while operating on an instrument flight
