Yet Another MU-2 Down, 2 POB Lost

Highly Capable Aircraft Design Continues to Rack Up A Disproportionate Amount of Accidents

ANN has learned of yet another tragic MU-2 accident that occurred mid-day, Friday, in an area of IFR weather, North of Daytona Beach, FL. The second MU-2 accident in FL, in as many months, this aircraft went down just 5 NM NW of Ormond Beach where local conditions consisted of rain showers and areas of reduced visibility.

And Again... US Airways Flight Diverted, Passenger Subdued

Friday is proving to be a rough day when it comes to diverted airline flights... as Aero-News has learned of yet ANOTHER plane diverted due to a security issue.

AD NUMBER: 2006-17-08 MANUFACTURER: Pratt & Whitney SUBJECT: Airworthiness Directive 2006-17-08 SUMMARY: The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for Pratt & Whitney (PW) PW4077D, PW4084D, PW4090, and PW4090-3 turbofan engines that were reassembled with certain previously used high pressure compressor (HPC) exit brush seal assembly parts and certain new or refurbished HPC exit diffuser air seal inner lands.
