Citizens of Lockeford, California and College Station, Texas are bracing for the rolling out of Prime  Air—Amazon’s much-anticipated drone delivery service—which the online giant debuted in the two towns. Amazon Pharmacy is a service by which College Station residents can have prescription medications delivered by drone. Intuitive Machines has announced jointly with SpaceX that liftoff of the IM-1 lunar mission is targeted for a multi-day launch window opening 12 January 2024. Leonardo Increases AW169 Helicopter’s Capabilities

The capabilities of Leonardo’s AW169 light-intermediate twin-engine helicopter will grow further by dint of the launch of a 5,100 kg (11,243-pound) Increased Gross Weight (IGW) kit and a new 11-seat configuration fully-compliant with the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) Report 690. Both upgrades will be made available for the helicopter’s skid landing-gear iteration.

Embraer Releases 2023 Third-Quarter Numbers

Thirty-Percent Increase in Aircraft Deliveries Noted

Embraer delivered 43 jets in 2023’s third-quarter, an increase of thirty-percent compared to 2022’s third-quarter, during which 33 aircraft were delivered. Commercial Aviation has shown robust delivery growth, soaring from ten to 15 aircraft, a fifty-percent increase compared to the same period in 2022. For Executive Aviation, there was also an increase; 28 jets delivered (19 light and 9 medium) representing a 22-percent increase compared to 2022's third-quarter.

USAF F-16 Intercepts Civilian Aircraft Strayed Too Near Biden

The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) scrambled a U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter jet and a lone MH-65 helicopter to intercept a civilian aircraft that entered restricted airspace near the Wilmington, Delaware residence of Joe Biden. The two military aircraft made contact with the civilian plane at approximately 14:25 EDT on Saturday, 28 October 2023, and escorted the latter to an uneventful landing at a nearby airport.

Additional Details Released on Alaska Airlines Flight 2059 Incident

Pilot Who Attempted Engine Flame-Out had Used Hallucinogens On 22 October 2023, off-duty Alaska Airlines pilot Joseph David Emerson, 44, attempted to deploy the engine fire-suppression systems of an in-flight Horizon Air Embraer E-175. Had he succeeded, the regional jet’s powerplants, both of them, would likely have flamed out over the mountainous terrain south of Seattle, Washington. Comes now 30 October and news that Emerson was returning home from an emotional weekend during which he was reminded acutely of a close friend who’d died unexpectedly nearly six-years ago.

Aero2 UAV to Help Link Swedish Hospitals

European Medical Drone, the Swedish drone operator engaged in connecting hospitals by means of drone transportation, and Dufour Aerospace, the Swiss eVTOL concern, have signed a development cooperation and purchase agreement for 11 Aero2 uncrewed tilt-wing aircraft. Subject agreement includes the delivery of one Aero2 X2.3 prototype aircraft in 2024 and ten serial Aero2 aircraft to follow in 2026. Assisting in the transaction is Swedish helicopter vendor and Dufour Aerospace partner Savback Helicopters.

On September 30, 2023, at 1942 eastern daylight time, a Cessna 150, N6312G, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Gilford, New Hampshire. The pilot was fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. A preliminary review of radar data provided by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) revealed, the pilot departed Rhode Island T.F.
