Sky Connect Announces Sales to 3 Diverse EM Providers

Recent sales to Airlift Northwest, Cook Children's Medical Center/Teddy Bear Transport, and Life Lion underscore how Sky Connect products "enhance the safety and effectiveness of emergency medical missions while delivering reliable, affordable performance," according to Wiley Loughran, the company's senior vice president of sales and marketing.

The sales were packaged with AeroMed Software, a critical care management product by Innovative Engineering one of many solutions providers Sky Connect works with to maximize customer value. Sky Connect is the leading manufacturer of Iridium-based aircraft tracking and telephone systems for rotorcraft, fixed-wing, marine applications and ground assets.

Airlift Northwest, in Seattle, Wash., has purchased 10 Sky Connect TRACKER systems to provide voice and tracking capability for its diverse fleet of rotorcraft and fixed-wing aircraft.

In Texas, Teddy Bear Transport will equip one King Air and one Bell 222 helicopter with Sky Connect's TRACKER-MMU (Mission Management Unit), which delivers two-way satellite text messaging and voice calls. The MMU will enable Teddy Bear Air to exchange standard or user-defined text messages and conduct phone calls between their crews and dispatch communicators.

Life Lion is purchasing 13 Sky Connect systems to equip 11 ground ambulances and two helicopters. The ambulances will utilize theSky Connect MOBILE system, which offers a simple, lightweight, one-box solution with full global tracking, voice and data service.

For air medical applications, Sky Connect products enable pilots to focus on ensuring safety for the patient and medical crew. They can telephone anyone, for example, at the push of a button, and in case of emergency, they know assistance can be directed quickly to the exact last known position. Tracking data and messages are displayed by AeroMed Software’s AeroMap mapping module and stored in its Dispatch module, providing a total solution for the communications center. AeroMap provides street-level detail that enables operators to precisely pinpoint an aircraft's location anytime and anywhere worldwide. What’s more, the combination of TRACKER and AeroMed Software enables users to bill for actual miles flown, recouping the system costs in short order.

More than 2,000 aircraft around the world are flying with Sky Connect equipment.
