ANN REALTIME UPDATE 07.24.06 1200 EDT: Aero-News has confirmed the two people lost in the Sunday morning accident at Wittman Field were Clifford and Betty Shaw, from Edmonds, WA.

EAA spokesman Dick Knapinski told ANN the couple's Europa XS experimental aircraft (file photo of similar type below) impacted the ground about 500 feet short of Runway 27, the victim of the apparent stall-spin.

The FAA is on site to conduct the investigation.
