Expansion At Centennial
Aviation Technology Group says it plans to expand its
headquarters at Centennial Airport in Englewood, CO. The new
facilities will now include two hangars totaling 12,800 additional
square feet that will be used for the continuing research and
development of the Javelin Executive Jet.
The new research and development facilities will add about a
dozen jobs to the ATG roster to include mechanics, test pilots and
engineers. The research and development facilities will be used for
functional testing and for making modifications to the Javelin
demonstrator prototype. ATG engineering is coordinating with the
FAA on details in preparation for first flight.
In the last two months, ATG engineers and mechanics say they
have reached many milestones in building the Javelin. The fuel
tank, ejection seats and landing gear were assembled and fitted to
the plane, and the prototype was painted with primer coat.
Recently, the mechanics conducted a series of tests. The engine was
on both internal batteries and an external power cart, the starting
system was powered up and tested, and the main power distributor,
voltmeter and external power control were turned on and tested. All
tests were successful. Engineers and mechanics are now completing
final assembly before the plane is taken apart and shipped to the
testing site. ATG Flight Operation team will then begin final
testing and preparation for the first flight.
The Javelin demonstrator prototype will be used to evaluate
aircraft performance, handling qualities, and selected system
installations. ATG says the results of this testing will be
assessed and changes made as necessary for incorporation into the
FAA-certified production Javelin.
