The Aircraft
Electronics Association Educational Foundation will award more than
30 scholarships totaling more than $100,000 for the 2007-2008
academic year, to students pursuing a career in the avionics or
aircraft maintenance industries.
With four new scholarships added to the list of sponsors --
Rockwell Collins Scholarship, Duncan Aviation Scholarship, Aviation
Instrument Association Scholarship, and the Don C. Hawkins Memorial
Scholarship -- AEA told Aero-News this week the latest scholarship
campaign is the largest since the inception of the AEA Educational
Foundation in 1990.
The scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors
and college students planning to or already attending an accredited
school in an avionics or aviation maintenance program. Students
interested in one or more of these scholarships can visit the AEA
website, at the FMI link below, to download an application.
The deadline for
application submissions is February 15, 2007. Scholarships will be
awarded at the 50th anniversary AEA International Convention &
Trade Show, at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, NV in March
2007.
The AEA Educational Foundation was founded in 1990 to enhance,
promote and secure the future of aviation and the AEA by furthering
the education of students, technicians and members of the AEA. The
foundation focuses on scholarship programs, support of aviation
education institutions and avionics careers.
Nearly $1 million has been award to students since the AEA
Educational Foundation's inception.
