Astronomers Discover Planet In Orion
Meet HD 37605b, a gas giant twice the size of Jupiter -- the
biggest planet in our solar system. The Dallas Morning News reports
HD 37605b was discovered last week by astronomers at the University
of Texas' Hobby-Eberly Telescope.
"This will be the first of many planets coming out of the HET,"
William Cochran, an astronomer at the University of Texas at Austin
and leader of the research team, told the Dallas Morning News.
HD 37605b is the 123rd planet outside our solar system
discovered by astronomers so far. The planet itself is rather
amazing -- not only because of its size, but because of its orbit.
It circles its star, HD37605, once every 54 days.
