For AviNet Type B Network Service
The newest Singapore-based low-fare airline—Jetstar
Asia—will use ARINC’s AviNet Type B business messaging
when it launches new regional passenger services from Singapore
later this month. The Asia Pacific division of ARINC Incorporated
made the announcement today.
Jetstar Asia will use AviNet Type B to exchange important
passenger information with its destination airports. The network
project is to start immediately.
“Our partnership with ARINC will allow us to manage our
communications infrastructure cost-effectively, helping us provide
outstanding service while still offering our customers exceptional
value for money,” said Simon Lew, Airport Systems Manager for
Jetstar Asia. “We look forward to working with ARINC during
our launch and our future expansion.” Jetstar Asia is
anticipating a fleet of 20 aircraft within three years, serving
multiple Asian destinations within five hours of Singapore.
“We are very excited to be part of Jetstar Asia’s
fresh and vibrant approach to low-cost travel in the region, and
will continue to support them during their launch and
beyond,” stated Randy Pizzi, ARINC’s Asia Pacific
Managing Director.
ARINC AviNet customers use the Type B messaging service to
exchange seat availability status, passenger information, and other
industry-related messages. AviNet Type B service is an advanced IP
network that supports customers who use older legacy protocols as
well as modern IP protocols. AviNet also reduces costs for airlines
with its new flat pricing option.
