NATA Launches New Flight Training Publication

Quarterly Electronic Newsletter Available To NATA Members

“Flight training organizations face unique challenges in today’s changing market, and they must apply the same attention and diligence to the business of flight training as they have applied to aviation training itself,” said NATA President James K. Coyne (pictured below).

“Flight Training Business Report will help flight school owners and managers focus their efforts and improve their business,” he added.

“NATA’s Flight Training Business Report exceeds my expectations by an order of magnitude,” said John Lotz, CEO of Monterey Bay Aviation, an FBO, flight school and NATA member located in Monterey, California. “The articles will be extremely helpful to members who apply the tips to their operations,” he remarked.

“The flight training industry will undergo a tremendous change as we move into the era of technically advanced aircraft and personal jets,” Lotz continued. “Flight training providers who improve their business practices, adjust their business model, apply technology in every component of their business and who understand their customer intimately will win this race,” Lotz said. “FTBR will help us get there.”

“Flight Training Business Report fills a large gap that was "below the radar" for the flight training industry,” said Jim Hackman, chairman of NATA’s Flight Training Committee and regional manager of Cessna Pilot Centers.

“It will help us with sales and marketing and provide practical, low-cost suggestions to improve our school's bottom line. NATA has filled a real need,” he added.

Topics addressed in the first edition of the Report include marketing attitudes, sales environments, and updates on regulatory matters. The Report also solicits advice and comment from its readership.

“NATA, the voice for the flight training industry, is pleased to deliver this new business tool to our members,” Coyne said.

NATA members may subscribe to the Flight Training Business Report by email request to flighttraining@nata.aero.
