Aero-TV: Airbus ACJ Update -- Big Jets For BIG Business

Airbus Maintains Significant Market Presence In BizAv World

Times are tough... but surprisingly, the really big companies that dominate the world's business scene are still buying and operating business airplanes. That's true simply because operating airplanes means owning a serious advantage when it comes to undertaking business... something that has been heretofore lost on the powers-that-be in Washington, DC.

One of the biggest players in the BizAv world is mighty Airbus, the European counterpoint to all things Boeing and a real scrapper when it comes to competing for BizJet orders -- much to Seattle's chagrin.

“Demand for the wide open spaces of our corporate jet cabins is even better than we anticipated when we launched them a few years ago, as their success in their variety of roles in the VVIP charter market demonstrates,” concludes Airbus Chief Operating Officer, Customers, John Leahy. “Airbus corporate jets are good business for the operators, and it shows,” he adds.

Airbus offers an A318 Elite, an Airbus ACJ and an A320 Prestige as corporate jet versions of its modern and successful A320 airliner family, as well as VIP versions of its widebodies for customers that want even more capacity, comfort and range.

Total sales of Airbus corporate jets now stand at more than 170 aircraft, comprising over 110 A318 Elites, Airbus ACJs and A320 Prestiges and around 60 government and VIP widebodies.
