Heli-Expo 2008: AFS, Le Bozec Offer Inlet Barrier Filters In Europe

Over 3000 IBFs In Service Worldwide

Aerospace Filtration Systems, Inc. (AFS) and French aerospace company Le Bozec Filtration & Systems are joining forces to offer helicopter engine Inlet Barrier Filters direct into the EMEA (Europe-Middle East-Africa) market. Both companies design and manufacture filtration solutions for a variety of commercial and military helicopter applications.

Since 1920, Le Bozec Filtration & Systems has provided state of the art products for the aviation industry. Located in Paris, France, Le Bozec is uniquely positioned to interact with rotary wing companies across the EMEA zone, and promote AFS products. This joint effort allows the operators to benefit from local customer support and product availability.

"We look forward to helping EMEA zone helicopter operators recognize AFS products' benefits and realize improved engine inlet protection, rewarding them with reduced operating costs and improved performance," said Jean-Philippe Bonhomme, Sales Manager for Le Bozec.

AFS President Michael Scimone sees broad synergy in partnering with Le Bozec for European product distribution and support. "Our companies are both committed to providing cutting edge technology for the aviation industry, and we believe in delivering high quality products to our customers worldwide. Europe has a strong history of helicopter operations, and we believe this joint effort will allow improved access to beneficial technology for European operators."

More than 3,000 AFS Inlet Barrier Filter systems are in operation worldwide for a wide variety of commercial and military aircraft, with more than 1,000,000 total flight hours on these systems. AFS IBFs are protecting helicopter engines operating in corporate charter, air medical, firefighting, seismic/utility, military and various other mission types.

AFS Director of Business Development Robert Stenberg stated AFS anticipates additional EASA certifications in 2008, including the AgustaWestland AW119, Bell 205 and Eurocopter AS350. New development systems for the Eurocopter EC 130, Bell 430 and AgustaWestland AW139 will achieve US FAA certification in 2008.
