New Board Leadership Takes Charge At DFW International Airport

Incoming Chairman Ben Muro Served On Board Since 2005

Dallas resident Ben P. Muro will assume his new role as chairman of the DFW International Airport Board of Directors on April 1, 2009. Muro has served on the Board since May 2005 and most recently served as the vice chair. Joining Muro on the Board's leadership team will be Francisco Hernandez of Fort Worth as vice chair and Robert Hsueh of Dallas as secretary.

Muro brings more than 20 years of leadership in human resources, in addition to his extensive knowledge in the operation of government entities and private businesses. Muro currently serves as director of Human Resources for Acme Brick Company in Fort Worth, and has also led the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and served on the Dallas County Local Workforce Development Board.

"Ben brings an extensive and diverse business background to DFW's Board leadership," said Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert. "He has served on the Board with distinction for the past four years, having already demonstrated his skills as the vice chair."

Hernandez, who is an attorney in Fort Worth, will transition from Board secretary to his new position as vice chair on April 1.

"Francisco brings a wealth of knowledge from his many years of experience in international relations and business management to the Airport," said Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief. "His service is a major reason why we've been so successful in bringing new air service to the region—not the least of which is the recent addition of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines service to Amsterdam."

Hernandez' experience includes working for the U.S. Congress, the U.S. Department of Justice, the Texas State Senate, a large local law firm and Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. In addition, he has worked to help bridge the gap between Mexico and U.S. business practices.

Hsueh, who will now serve as the DFW Board secretary, is the managing partner at the Law Offices of Robert W. Hsueh, P.C. Hsueh serves on the Board of Directors for KERA, JP Morgan Chase Bank, TXU Electric & Gas, the Dallas Museum of Art, and the World Affairs Council of Dallas-Fort Worth. Additionally, he serves as chairman of The Dallas-China Partnership and is the founding chairman of The Greater Dallas Asian American Chamber of Commerce.

"Robert has provided deep insight and personal assistance to the Airport staff in creating strong relationships with airlines and airports in China and around the world," said Mayor Leppert. "Robert has been involved with improving travel and trade between China and DFW."

The DFW International Airport Board is composed of 12 members, nine of whom are appointed to two-year terms by the City Councils of Dallas and Fort Worth. The Mayors of Dallas and Fort Worth have a permanent seat on the Board, and the 12th Board member is a non-voting representative rotating annually among the cities of Euless, Grapevine, Irving and Coppell.
