Sixth Embraer Model To Be Certified In That Country
the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in India has granted type certification (TC) for Embraer’s Legacy 650 executive jet, paving the way for Legacy 650 customers to register and operate the aircraft in India.
“The Legacy 650 at Hyderabad is a significant event since it is the sixth Embraer Executive Jet model to gain Indian certification,” said José Eduardo Costas, Vice-President, Marketing and Sales, Asia Pacific – Embraer Executive Jets. “The 2012 version of the Legacy 650 is making its debut here while on the first leg of its worldwide demonstration tour which began this month. Launched in 2009, the Legacy 650 is the latest executive jet offered by Embraer. All of Embraer’s executive jets in production today – the entry-level Phenom 100, light Phenom 300, super-mid-size Legacy 600, large Legacy 650 and ultra-large Lineage 1000 – are now certified in India.”
The Legacy 650 is part of Embraer’s static display presentation at India Aviation 2012, currently taking place in Hyderabad. This will be the standard configuration of the aircraft produced in 2012.
The 2012 version of the Legacy 650 features refinements to the interior and cabin management system, including a new full high-definition inflight entertainment system in order to increase cabin comfort and capabilities. New avionics are designed to reduce pilot workload while the overall enhancements improve the flexibility and efficiency of aircraft operations.
Embraer has chosed the Honeywell Primus Elite avionics suite, to ensure the 2012 Legacy 600/650 is equipped for the changing air traffic control system. Embraer incorporated FANS 1/A CPDLC, RNP 0.3 WAAS/LPV and coupled VNAV for optimizing airspace use, flight time and lowering fuel burn. (Image provided by Embraer)
