In order to earn this amended Production Certificate, EAI demonstrated all assembly, quality, inspection, and flight verification processes required by the FAA.

DAC International has received certification for its GDC64 Tablet to Aircraft Interface Unit (TAIU) on the Bombardier Dash-8 aircraft. Fokker Services in the Netherlands assisted with the certification and will be responsible for the certification on aircraft.

Satellite Communications Provider Satcom Direct Integrates Exinda Mobile Platform

Network control solutions provider Exinda announced Tuesday that Satcom Direct, a developer of satellite communications solutions for corporate and military aircraft, has selected the Exinda Mobile platform to be integrated into its first hardware product, the Satcom Direct Router (SDR). Acting as a Wi-Fi access point on an airplane, the SDR will utilize the Exinda Mobile platform to improve the consistency and response time of Internet applications.

The Department for Transport in the United Kingdom has awarded  Bristow Helicopters Limited  a new contract to provide civilian Search and Rescue (SAR) services for all of the UK. Bristow helicopters is the UK affiliate of The Bristow Group who announced the contract award Tuesday in a news release.

Pilot Managed To Get Out Of The Airplane, But Did Not Survive

An accident last June involving a 66-year-old Stinson S108 may have been caused by a fractured piston. The NTSBs factual report on the accident, which resulted in the fatal injury of the airplane's pilot, Dr. Louis Hanson, shows one of the six cylinders in the S108's engine had fractured, throwing metal shrapnel into the engine's camshaft.

Sikorsky has entered into agreements to sell two S-76D helicopters to PT Travira Air, a Jakarta, Indonesia-based charter airline company. The purchase of the two S-76D aircraft represents the latest addition to the company's fleet but also represents the launching of the S-76D helicopter in Southeast Asia.

Certificate Covers More Than 800 Part 23 Aircraft
