Aerojet has successfully completed a second series of vibration

Analyst Says Possible Industry Bailout Clouds The Horizon
Max Sukkhasantikul, Commercial Aviation Consulting Analyst at
Frost & Sullivan contends that airline "test flights" for
operation in volcanic ash are more of a publicity stunt - as the
flights do not have any testing equipment and they needed to be
flown on those segments regardless.
As the solar wind flows over natural obstructions on the moon,
it may charge polar lunar craters to hundreds of volts, according
to new calculations by NASA's Lunar Science Institute team.

U.S. scheduled passenger airlines employed 3.5 percent fewer
workers in February 2010 than in February 2009, the 20th
consecutive decrease in full-time equivalent employee (FTE) levels

On November 2nd, 1929, 117 American female pilots gathered at Curtiss Field in Valley Stream, Long Island, New York; their goal was simple: to create an organization dedicated to the advancement of aviation. Three years later, Amelia Earhart became the first president of the “Ninety-Nines, Inc.,” named for the 99 charter members of the first organization composed entirely of licensed female pilots. Today, the Ninety-Nines has over 5,500 members throughout the world.
First Airplane With GreenTrak Flight Planning Software
Cessna announced Tuesday it has delivered the first Citation
CJ4. It was also the first Citation delivered with Cessna's newly
released GreenTrak flight planning software. The delivery was made

Proposes $330,000 Penalty Against The Flight School
The FAA has proposed a $330,000 civil penalty against North-Aire
Aviation, LLC, of Prescott Valley, Arizona, for failing to comply
with its FAA pilot school regulations and falsifying records.
Will Submit The KC-45 In The Tanker Modification Program
EADS North America announced Tuesday that it intends to submit a
proposal on July 9, 2010, offering the KC-45 in the U.S. Air
Force’s tanker modernization program.
NLR Research Aircraft Used To Verify Movement Of The Cloud
The National Aerospace Laboratory's (NLR) research aircraft has
investigated the volcanic ash cloud hovering over the Netherlands.
The purpose of this flight was to verify the accuracy of
atmospheric models currently being used to predict the movements of
the ash cloud.
Union Leads Emergency Debate On Jobs Threat At Scottish TUC

As UK airspace began to re-open Tuesday, Unite, the UK's largest
aviation union, warned that workers must not be expected to meet
the costs of the disruption brought by the erupting Icelandic
volcano.
The second Boeing747-8 Freighter, RC521, landed in Palmdale, CA,
Monday, marking the beginning of a planned transition of 747-8
Freighter testing to Southern California. The more than four-hour
flight from Boeing Field in Seattle included testing on avionics
and cruise performance.
"Pilots must receive comprehensive training and taking
short cuts isn't acceptable. Schools dedicated to teaching pilots
the skills they need to fly safely are required to follow all FAA

LAADR is a procedure whereby flight altitudes may be limited to
flight level 230 and below. LAADR procedures are primarily used in
the departure phase of flight, but can be extended for an entire
flight when operational benefits are achieved.
Sure, the Red Bull Air Races are exicting and fast, but this
weekend kicks off the 2010 Sport Air Racing League (SARL) series
... air races intended for the non-professional pilot. The Sport
Air Racing League exists to promote open course air racing for
experimental and production aircraft.
