Sporty's Deluxe Instrument Rating Kit (Online Course & Leather Bag)

As I waded back into the world of hard GA IFR over the course of last year (face it, our old Glasair III was fun, but a hard IFR mount it was NOT), I found myself scrambling to check out a number of resources to help me get back up to speed... both for my own purposes as well as my curiosity about the state of guidance available to today's up and coming IFR Aeronauts. The folks at Sportys were kind enough to send me one of their recently updated IFR training kits and I really liked what I found.

NBAA: Recent Security Incident 'Highlights Need for Continued Vigilance'

However, Recent Proposals In The UK Cause New Concerns

Although business aviation has never been identified as a security threat, the attempted terrorist action aboard a commercial airliner on December 25 underscores the need for continued vigilance across all of aviation. The Best Of Gadget Patrol 2009: Rod Machado's Instrument Pilot's Handbook

The workload has never been more complex and the capabilities never so impressive, but I have to admit that its getting harder and harder to keep up... especially with the other job I have... namely keeping ANN on the straight and narrow. Educational Director, Larry Wood, Profiles the Infamous Spruce Goose

In July of 1942, while the United States remained embroiled in World War II, famed industrialist Henry Kaiser proposed a fleet of flying transports to safely protect troops and supplies from German U-boats.  Joining forces with Howard Hughes, Kaiser obtained an $18,000,000 government contract to construct three “Flying Boats.”  Due to government restrictions on critical war material, such as steel and aluminum, Hughes used a process called “Duramold” to create almost every part of the plane.  Using a plywood-like series of thin wood laminations, engineers built an airframe both lighter and stronger than aluminum.  The resulting wooden aircraft
