Wright Relative Passes Away

Grandnephew Milton Was Accomplished Artist

Milton Wright, Jr., Wilbur and Orville's grandnephew, passed away in Dayton over the weekend of apparent pneumonia. An accomplished artist in his own right, Milton was 84.

Born to Anne Grosvenor and Milton Wright in 1920, Milton Junior obtained a degree in fine arts at Miami University, Oxford. He flew in the Army Air Corps during World War II and later remained in Paris to further his art career.

"Paris was the place he loved, but he loved Brooklyn and New York City, too," his nephew, Stephen Wright, told the Dayton Daily News.

Milton was acquainted with his famous Uncle Orville until the aviation pioneer's death in 1948. He took relish in recounting a college visit from Orville. Seems Orville took issue with something in an aviation textbook, so he scribbled some notes on the tome. Later, a professor took a look at the margin notes and demanded of Milton, "Who says this?"

"Orville Wright says," Milton replied, according to the Dayton Daily News account.

According to Milton's wishes, the family plans no funeral.
