Eyes Wide Open: Night Flight Concepts Trains CALSTAR

California Air Rescue Unit Completes NVG Maintenance Course

Night Flight Concepts (NFC) announced September 13, that California based CALSTAR, a rapid response shock-trauma air rescue unit, has completed the NFC Night Vision Goggle Maintenance Course.

The course was was conducted at NFC's headquarters location in Port St. Lucie, FL. In accordance with their training agreement, NFC provided CALSTAR with all the instruction,testing equipment and tools required to begin conducting their own in-house NVG inspections and maintenance. 

“With the fast growing implementation of night vision goggles in the civil industry over the past few years, it is great to see a company such as CALSTAR seek and acquire proper training and equipment to assure they operate and maintain their night vision goggles at peak performance.” David Luke, Vice President, Night Flight Concepts. 

CALSTAR is a non-profit Air Ambulance organization headquartered in Sacramento California. and according to their Web site, the company became the first non-hospital-based air ambulance program in the nation, and operates under its own Part 135 air carrier certificate.
