AD NUMBER: AD/AMD 10/25
Wing Anti-Ice Hoses 4/2005TX
APPLICABILITY: Dassault Falcon 10 REQUIREMENT: 1. AFM Limitations: Insert
the following operational limitations into the Aircraft Flight
Manual (this can be achieved by inserting a copy of this AD in the
AFM Limitations Section, at the first page of the Section: "Flights
in icing conditions are prohibited"
2. Inspection: (a) Carry out initial and repetitive
inspections in accordance with Service Bulletin (SB)
Fl0-A312.
(b) If during inspection: some blisters (separation) are discovered
on the internal wall of the hose, replace the hose by a new one
referenced FAL1005D in accordance with SB Fl0-A312 or later DGAC
approved revisions.
(c) Send back the SB inspection report to the aircraft manufacturer
when available: indicate on this report for each inspected hose:
Its flight hours: its position on the wing (inboard or outboard).
Its number of cycles in icing conditions and its manufacturing
date.
3. Limitations: The following Airworthiness Limitations
Inspection must be inserted in the Chapter 5-40 of the maintenance
manual(this can be achieved by inserting a copy of this AD in
Chapter 5-40): Operation Reference Threshold Periodicity
30 - Anti-icing: Visual inspection of the anti-icing flexible hoses
of the wing slats. SB-F10-A312 60 flights or 3 months Life Limit : 3000h
4. Terminating
Actions: Accomplishment of Requirements 2 and 3 of this
Directive cancels the limitations introduced in Requirement 1 of
this Directive.
5. Alternative Means Of Compliance (AMOC): In lieu of the
actions required by Requirements 2 and 3 of this Directive perform
the following actions:
(a) Carry out requirement 1 of this Directive.
(b) Fit a placard in the cockpit within clear view of the flight
crew stating:
"Flights in icing conditions are prohibited" Note: DGAC AD UF-2005-041 EASA approval No. 2005-1986
dated 25 February
2005 refers. COMPLIANCE: For Requirement 1: Unless previously
accomplished before further flight.
For Requirement 2: Unless previously accomplished initial
inspection to be within 10 flight cycles from the effective date of
this Directive, thereafter repeat inspections at intervals not to
exceed 60 flight cycles or 3 months whichever occurs first.
For Requirements 3 and 4: Unless previously accomplished within 10
flight cycles from the effective date of this Directive.
For Requirement 5: Prior to further flight whenever the actions
detailed in Requirements 2 or 3 are not met.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 8 March
2005. BACKGROUND: This Directive is issued
following the discovery of wing anti-ice flexible hoses found
collapsed on an in-service Falcon 10. The hose has collapsed
because of the internal ply separation of the flexible hose. The
first analysis of this incident leads to define a temporary
periodicity of inspection of 60 flights for this equipment. The
consequence on the aircraft of these collapsed hoses might be
insufficient anti-icing which is not detected by the system. Ice
accretion on the wing might then occur and might jeopardize the
aircraft flight performance and safety.
This Directive requires repetitive inspection of the subject
hoses or placarding the
cockpit and prohibition from operating the aircraft under certain
conditions.
