In an ongoing effort to keep you informed about what's going on
at AirVenture this year, ANN has made a commitment to bring you a
live video wrap up of the days activities each evening a 1900 CDT.
The programs, which will continue through Friday, include a summary
of the days top news, as well as a feature interview with one of
the days' newsmakers.
In our first program, Avidyne led off the day today introducing
a full line of panel-mounted, plug-and-play avionics for general
aviation aircraft. The new avionics stack includes the IFD540
FMS/GPS/ Navigation/ Communication system with touch screen user
interface, a stereo Audio Panel with Marker Beacon, a Mode S
Extended Squitter (ES) Transponder, and the DFC90 Digital
Autopilot.
Tim Archer is back as CEO at Superior Air Parts, and announced
that The company has been in negotiations with suppliers as it
ramps back up, and has discovered that some costs are coming in
lower than projected, allowing reduced prices for specific
components including some Millennium cylinder assemblies.
"Why does my brand new half-million-dollar airplane still come
with magnetos, when my 30-year-old car has electronic ignition?"
Well now, it won't have to. WE told our viewers that Electroair has
developed an electronic ignition system for homebuilt and certified
aircraft. The company is ready to equip your experimental now, and
anticipates a supplemental type certificate for use on
four-cylinder Lycomings in mid-August.
The show also includes a feature interview each evening. Our
first guest was Avidyne Chief Operating Officer Patrick Herguth,
who joined us to talk about the innovations announced earlier
Monday morning from the avionics company. ANN's Tom Patton chatted
with Mr. Herguth about the touch screen interface and new
plug-and-play avionics designed for the retrofit market.
The program will be coming to you each evening live from our ANN
headquarters on the grounds of Wittman Regional Airport. We hope
you'll tune in by visiting our new website and clicking on the link
for our live webcasts.
