Fall Course Open To The Public At St. Paul, MN, School
The Aviation Management Consortium is offering a Private Pilot
Ground School course this fall at Metropolitan State University in
St. Paul, MN. The course is for anyone who is interested in
becoming a pilot as preparation for their private pilot written
examination, or for those in the aviation industry who want to
learn more about flying to broaden their career skills. Topics
covered include aircraft aerodynamics and systems, air navigation,
aviation charts, federal aviation regulations and air traffic
control communications.
The instructor is Brian Addis, a single-engine, multi-engine and
instrument flight instructor who also serves as a designated pilot
examiner for private, instrument, sea plane and commercial ratings.
“Brian is very well known and respected in the local aviation
industry, and we are thrilled to have him lead the ground school
course,” said Kim Doebbert, Academic Advisor/Recruiter and
Aviation Management Coordinator at Metropolitan State
University.
Metropolitan State University is known for its focus on adult
learners, especially those seeking to complete their
bachelor’s degree or go on to obtain a master’s or
doctorate. The consortium is a collaboration of aviation programs
at Metropolitan State University; Winona State University;
Minnesota State University, Mankato; and St. Cloud State
University.
Classes will take place at Metropolitan State’s Midway
campus on Tuesday evenings, Aug. 23 through Nov. 29. Cost is about
$900. It is the only ground school being offered at a Twin Cities
public college or university. The course is open to the public ---
participants do not have to be enrolled at Metropolitan State.
