Enters Into Service Agreement With Florida Piper Dealer
Piper Aircraft's global customer support network has been
strengthened with the addition of well-respected Horizontal de
Aviación S.A.S. at the El Dorado International Airport in
Bogota, Colombia as an approved Piper Service Center. Horizontal de
Aviación and Global Wings LLC, Boca Raton, FL, Piper's
dealer in Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela and the Caribbean, have
entered into a service agreement that was approved recently by
Piper Aircraft, according to Piper Director of Sales for the
Americas Drew McEwen.
"Horizontal de Aviación, under
the leadership of Gerente General Pablo Quintero Barco, is a
reliable aircraft maintenance organization that excels at taking
care of its customers," McEwen said. "We are pleased to welcome the
operation into the Piper family of customer care providers."
Horizontal de Aviación, in business for more than 20 years,
has nearly 52,000 square feet (4,800 square meters) of airplane
hangars, and office space. It is approved to work on all Piper
airplane models. In addition to Piper models, the company also
works on Hawker Beechcraft, Twin Commander and Cessna aircraft.
"The Piper fleet in Colombia consists of more than 300 registered
aircraft and our organization stands ready to meet or exceed the
maintenance needs of the owners these aircraft," said Gerente
General Pablo Quintero Barco. Colombia, which is nearly twice the
size of Texas, has terrain that includes flat coastal lowlands,
central highlands, high Andes Mountains, and lowland plains.
"The performance of Piper airplanes is ideally suited to the varied
terrain and distances of within Colombia," said Nick Schneider,
Global Wings president. "As Piper's dealer throughout the Caribbean
and the northern tier of South America, we are pleased to add
Horizontal de Aviación as our principal service provider in
Colombia because we expect the fleet maintenance needs to grow as
the number of airplanes in the country grows."
