Peter Bunce Takes Over Top Position With Extensive Aviation
Experience
The General Aviation
Manufacturers Association (GAMA) has selected Peter
(“Pete”) J. Bunce its new President and CEO,
starting on April 1, 2005.
Pete joins GAMA from the Pentagon where he was Director of the
Air Force Congressional Budget and Appropriations Liaison working
closely with staff and members of the House and Senate. He also
spent five years as the Department of Defense representative to the
International Council of Air Shows’ Board of Directors and
Safety Committee. A career aviator, Pete served with the F-15
Squadron Command tasked with fielding and first operational use of
Fighter Data Link. He also commanded a 2200+ personnel flying
operation in Arizona, flying A-10’s and Specialized
C-130’s.
“Pete is going to be an outstanding leader for our
association and indeed the aviation industry,” said Jim
Schuster, Chairman of GAMA’s Board of Directors. “A
long-time pilot with international experience, Pete thoroughly
understands airplane, airport, airspace and operational issues. He
also brings a significant amount of congressional relations
expertise that GAMA can immediately put to work on general aviation
issues.”
Pete graduated from the Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of
Science Degree in International Relations and holds a Master of
Science degree in International Affairs from Troy State University.
He attended Harvard University on an International Affairs
Fellowship and holds commercial, multi-engine, and instrument
ratings. Pete resides in Centreville (VA) with his wife Patty and
daughters Megan and Ashley. His son, Justin, is a Lance Corporal in
the U.S. Marine Corps.
