Evektor America Celebrates 50th US SportStar Delivery

Company Reports 56 Aircraft Stateside

It was just a tad over two years ago that the Evektor SportStar became the first approved Special Light Sport Aircraft (S-LSA) in the United States... and in a pre-show ceremony Monday at Lakeland 2007, the 50th SportStar in the United States was delivered to a very excited father and son.

Harry Warnock took delivery of the"factory fresh" Evektor SportStar that he and his son, Todd, purchased to use "for fun," just days after Evektor America marked the two-year anniversary of the S-LSA approval April 8.

Both father and son are accomplished pilots. Harry told ANN he is a former US Naval aviator, and a retired airline pilot for Pan Am and United. Todd is an experienced GA pilot, who soloed at the early age of 16. The Warnocks plan to fly the SportStar up and down the Florida coast, between Harry's home in Jacksonville, and his son's home in the Miami area.

"We feel the SportStar is perfectly suited for our needs and both my son and I have been counting the days leading up to the delivery of our new SportStar," said Harry Warnock.

During Monday's delivery ceremony, Evektor America President Jeff Conrad was just as excited.

"We couldn't be happier to mark our second anniversary with our 50th SportStar customer delivery," Conrad said, "and being able to celebrate this at Sun 'n Fun and at the LAMA booth really holds special meaning for my company and Evektor."

Representatives with Evektor America tell ANN business continues to be very brisk for the company. Prior to departure to attend Sun 'n Fun, the company took delivery of six planes that are awaiting customer deliveries, bringing the total number of SportStars delivered since April of 2005 to 56 planes. Conrad states his company is now receiving between 6-8 aircraft per month at the company's Kerrville, TX facility.

Evektor America anticipates imports of the Sportstar will exceed 70 aircraft in 2007... which likely means another milestone delivery is looming on the horizon.

"We are already planning delivery of our 100th SportStar sometime in the early 4th quarter of this year," Conrad said.
