Avidyne, Cirrus, Diamond, And Piper Aircraft... Take A
Bow!
We're less than 36
hours away from the start of AOPA Expo 2006... and it's possible
most of the ANN staff is en route to Palm Springs, CA as you're
reading this. That's not a bad way to spend a few days in early
November, to be sure... but have we mentioned (enough) just how
expensive it is to support seven people, cart them halfway across
the country, and then make sure that they're fed and watered on a
somewhat regular basis?
Well, take our word for it, this is no small endeavor... and a
really costly one, to boot. So that's why we're so thrilled (OK,
relieved) to speak up and thank the folks who are paying the bills
this week. Some of the finest companies in the business have ponied
up some very serious bucks so that YOU can read the most
comprehensive coverage we know how to offer... and we'd like to
acknowledge them accordingly.
Avidyne
Avidyne and S-TEC are showing off the
first certified large-screen integrated flight deck for retrofit
installation in GA aircraft. The new Alliant flight deck transforms
the proven King Air 200 into an aircraft with the state-of-the-art
Envision integrated flight deck and S-TEC’s IntelliFlight
2100 digital autopilot.
Avidyne is the leading provider of situational awareness
displays and integrated flight deck systems for general aviation
aircraft, providing the safety, capability, and reliability
benefits of air transport and bizjet flight decks, at cost and
weight targets required for general aviation. No kidding...

Cirrus
What else is there to say... we want a turbo SR22 BAD (and not
simply for the off chance of getting to see SR22 owner Angelina
Jolie at the next COPA gathering.) It's not surprising that the
combination of a turbocharger... and a hot new Hartzell prop...
makes a wonderful aircraft even more so.
Cirrus has an SR model for
everybody... from the VFR-spec SRV, to the midrange SR20 and on
through the SR22 model line... and all of them equipped with the
groundbreaking CAPS emergency parachute system.

Diamond Aircraft
Diamond Aircraft is hosting its
largest AOPA EXPO display ever. At 10:00am Wednesday, November 8,
Diamond’s lineup will participate in the Parade of Planes,
taxiing through the streets of Palm Springs.
In addition to a spectacular indoor display at Booth 810,
featuring the DA40 XL and the D-JET mock-up, Diamond is hosting a
“Technology Tent” where Expo-goers can learn about
composites, and turbo-diesel, turbine and glass cockpit technology.
Daily seminars will be hosted by Diamond, Garmin, Williams
International and Thielert.

Piper Aircraft
From Cubs to Meridians -- and BEYOND... Piper makes each and
every aircraft they build their own. From the Arrow-inspired
Warrior trainer... to the Cherokee Six... to the Seminole and Aztec
twins... Pipers are easy to spot on the ramp, and even easier to
find pilots simply raving about their planes. And then there's
Piper's business-class singles -- available in piston form (Mirage)
or turbine (Meridian) that are two of the sweetest singles to fly
out there. And oh, that's right... there's a jet on the way,
too!
Piper is the only general aviation
manufacturer to offer a complete line of aircraft to help realize
the flying dreams of most any pilot. From rugged, reliable trainers
to high-performance turbo-props, Piper creates the highest quality
aircraft for everyone -- from new pilots to adventure-seekers to
serious business travelers.
