Will Participate In Citation Engine Modification Programs
Clifford Development announced the
appointment of Central Flying Service as a service center for the
Company's Citation II and Citation SII re-engining programs
utilizing Williams International FJ44-3A engines. Central Flying
Service, headquartered in Little Rock, Arkansas, is a family-owned
aircraft maintenance, aircraft sales and charter company. Founded
in 1939, Central Flying Service employs 250 people and operates
from a comprehensive 500,000+ sq. ft. facility. Maintenance
services include airframe and engine maintenance, paint, interior
and avionics work for primarily Citations, Hawkers and Beechcraft
products. The company has been a Beechcraft dealer for 60
years.
"We are pleased to add Central Flying Service as a Clifford
Development Service Center. This firm exemplifies the rare
combination of customer care and technical expertise that corporate
aircraft operators appreciate. In addition to our engine
modifications, Central Flying Service can provide virtually any
support or modification that a Citation operator might need," said
Jim Clifford.
Two parallel Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) programs are
underway at Clifford Development to re-engine both the Citation II
and the Citation SII.
The Citation II certification airplane is currently undergoing
flight tests in Mojave, California. Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA) flight tests are programmed to conclude in early 2008.
Initial flight test results for the Citation II support the
original performance estimates for the Williams engine conversion
including a long range cruise speed increase (+21 percent) and an
NBAA IFR range improvement (+29 percent).
The Citation SII certification airplane is currently being
modified with the Williams International FJ44-3A engines. First
engine runs are anticipated in late December and an abbreviated
flight test program is scheduled for early 2008. Issuance of STCs
is anticipated in early 2008 for the modification of both
airplanes.
Central Flying Service will provide complete sales, installation
and service support for Citation II and SII owners who purchase the
Clifford engine STC. Service centers receive technical support and
complete installation kits from Clifford Development. Installation
time for new engines is estimated at six weeks.
The Citation II and S/II engine conversions are priced at
$2,150,000 and $2,275,000 for 2008 installations. The price
includes a credit for the original engines.
