Upgraded! AOPA's Roger Myers

Promoted To Executive VP Of Finance

Aero-News has learned the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) recently promoted Roger Myers to executive vice president of finance and administration. Formerly that department’s senior vice president, in his new role Myers becomes the chief financial officer for AOPA and adds Membership Marketing to his responsibilities.

"Roger has been a valuable AOPA employee for 25 years," said AOPA President Phil Boyer. "He manages many of the employee-related programs and emphasizes the customer aspect when working with co-workers."

Myers leads the team responsible for the financial, human resources, information technology, and membership marketing activities of the Association. His financial oversight includes financial reporting, budgeting, planning, auditing, regulatory, and tax reporting.

AOPA says Myers has been instrumental in contributing to the financial stability and growth of the Association and its related charitable foundation, the AOPA Air Safety Foundation; implementation of first class financial systems and procedures; improved productivity; and realization of significant tax savings.

Myers joined AOPA in 1982, beginning his career in the Accounting Department. Prior to that he was an accountant with Fedders Corporation in Walkersville, Maryland, responsible for financial reporting.

Myers graduated from Mt. St. Mary’s College with a degree in Accounting, and also received his MBA from Mt. St. Mary’s College. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Maryland.

Myers is a life long resident of Frederick County, MD and lives in Frederick with his wife Teresa, and three children, Megan, Katy, and Matthew.
