Coast Guard MH-65 Assists In Family Rescue

Locate Child, Grandparents Lost While Looking For Christmas Tree In Willamette National Forest

The Coast Guard and the Lane County Sheriff’s Office located a 4-year-old girl and her grandparents Wednesday after they were reported missing in the Willamette National Forest earlier in the week. The girl and her grandparents ventured into the forest Monday looking for a Christmas tree. The three were reported missing after the girl’s mother went to pick her up at the grandparents’ home in Eugene and found no sign that the group had returned from the forest. Investigators did not know what part of the forest they headed to, but cell phone signals indicate they were last in the area of Fall Creek.

Rocket Biz Heats Up... Lockheed Martin Acquiring Aerojet Rocketdyne

Total Transaction Value of $4.4 Billion

Lockheed Martin Corporation has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Aerojet Rocketdyne for $56 per share in cash, which is expected to be reduced to $51 per share after the payment of a pre-closing special dividend. This represents a post-dividend equity value of $4.6 billion and a total transaction value of $4.4 billion including the assumption of net cash. As part of approving the transaction, Aerojet Rocketdyne announced a special cash dividend, revocable at its option through the payment date, of $5 per share to its holders of record of common stock and convertible senior notes (on an as-converted basis) as of the close of business on March 10, 2021, and payable on March 24, 2021.

The Navy confirmed that Capt. Flexjet to Require Flight Crew COVID-19 Testing Before Each Duty Tour

Flexjet to Utilize Saliva Based PCR Test

Flexjet has claimed to be the 'first and only' large-scale operator in their industry to routinely test all of its more than 830 flight crew members for COVID-19 before each tour of duty. Developed by a Rutgers University laboratory, called RUCDR Infinite Biologics, and administered by Vault Health, this at-home test is a PCR based test that utilizes a saliva sample. PCR tests are considered the “gold standard” of COVID-19 testing methodologies, because of their sensitivity and ability to directly detect small amounts of the virus’s genetic material.

NTSB Prelim: Cessna 551

During The Landing, The Pilot Cycled The Anti-Skid Brake System About 2-3 Times

On December 2, 2020, about 0843 central standard time, a Cessna 551, N48DK, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Lufkin, Texas. The airline transport pilot sustained minor injuries and 2 passengers were not injured. The airplane was being operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 91 corporate flight. The pilot stated that after an uneventful Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) flight from Austin, Texas, he entered the RNAV 16 approach to runway 16 at the Angelina County Airport (LFK), Lufkin, Texas. His intention was a full stop landing.

AD 2020-26-11 Prompted By A Report That Certain Elt Lithium Batteries Lack Protection

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Airbus SAS Model A300 F4-605R airplanes and Model A310-324 airplanes. This AD was prompted by a report that certain emergency locator transmitter (ELT) lithium batteries lack protection against current injection. This AD requires modification of the airplane circuit connecting the ELT battery, as specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) AD, which is incorporated by reference. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products. This AD is effective January 27, 2021.
